Just remember to shell out for a 4K TV while you're down the shops, too. This is just the cost of the admission for most great gaming experiences, but it doesn't always have to be. Game streaming services — which offload all the graphics processing to a server farm that isn't directly under your TV — are on the rise, letting you play console quality AAA titles without the hardware.
Then there's GameFly , which for a small subscription fee each month grants you access to huge catalogue of titles. All you need is a supported LG, Samsung or Philips smart TV, or a low-price, small-footprint set-top box like the tiny Android-powered Emtec Gembox, and you're up and running, bingeing on open-world action games like boxsets on Netflix.

Grid 2. Though Codemasters released a spin-off in the form of Grid Autosport a year later, Grid 2 is the last main instalment in the series.
As the studio knuckles down on authentic simulators like DiRT Rally and F1 , those hankering for more of an arcade thrill would do well to return to Grid 2, easily one of the prettiest games of the last generation.
There's no first person cockpit view, but what the game lacks in verisimilitude it more than makes up for in its packed garage of cars, both old and new, and its casual 'TrueFeel' handling. Darksiders 2. This launch title for the Nintendo Wii U is also playable on PC, and holds up well even when streamed.
